Meet Michael

Born and raised in Memphis and educated at Ole Miss, I grew up surrounded by the warmth and ritual of Southern cooking. After living in Atlanta and Chicago — and traveling across the country as a software executive — I experienced remarkable meals in cities and small towns alike, each one shaping my understanding of hospitality and intention at the table.

Today, Porch to Palm reflects those moments: the gentleness of the South meeting the simple elegance of the West. Through seasonal, thoughtfully composed dishes, I hope to give others the confidence and creativity to gather — whether for an intimate dinner or a beautifully elevated tailgate.

Friends and family have long called me Huffy, a nickname that carries the familiarity of home. Here, though, I simply hope to be your host — offering dishes and ideas that make gathering feel natural, not complicated.
